I know this is old news.. but I'm happy to hear that Anne Curtis won best actress in the MMFF. . And the great thing is that "Baler" won Best Picture. I know im not in the right position to blog about this since i've never watched it..but heck, it's the only entry that is film fest- worthy..
..compare Baler to Iskul Bukol.
or to Tanging Ina
it's the only serious film. Pansin nyo rin ba. Unless you consider the "Magkaibigan" film a serious movie. It stars Jinggoy Estrada.

And now Desperadas wins 2nd Best picture. Well, here's something to talk about. I watched it... and.... don't waste your money, i bet it's going to get shown in television in a few months.
it costs 140 pesos per ticket. It's even more expensive than when i watched Dark Knight.. and Dark Knight was superb. Sayang ang pera ko..pambili ng lobo.
Parang niloko lang nila yung film. Sigurado wala na yang sequel kasi wala na talaga syang kwento. Nanggugulo lang. Imagine Ruffa&co (+Ogie) strutting at The Fort carrying shopping bags, slow motion, with matching wind effect sa hair. Basically, that's all.
But the story was all over the place. You understand their point (sisterhood) but the scenes don't get there. I dunno, just that i'm not recommending it. okay. Pero,in all fairness, you will surely have fun kasi sobrang nakakatawa talaga ang mga punchline (Rufa Mae was great). Pero for MMFF? idontthinkso. i also regret bringing my kid brother with us bec. there was a some scenes that they were about to..

Sadly. Filipino films have become routine. I hope there will be more films that cover a broader scope of topics. Happy to see that they're thriving.

Here are the Pinoy films that make me proud to watch:
Inang Yaya
La Visa Loca
Mano Po 1
Magnifico
Kasal, Kasali, Kasalo
at
A Very Special love (kumontra panget).

well, nice post here...yeah, BALER Movie is such a nice one too...medyo fans kasi ako ni Jericho eh...lol...of course with Ann Curtis too...
My mother and I watched Tanging Ina and Desperada. Both moovies are so-so.
YAY for Anne Curtis. I loooooove her.
Although I really believe that Ai-Ai deserve that award. haha.
For me, mas maganda ang Ang Tanging Ina Nyong Lahat kesa Baler. Yes, igi-give ko ang pagiging seryoso ng Baler, pero hindi napull off for me. Yung ANG TANGING INA, madaming loose ends, unresolved subplots but it is still ultimately entertaining. Being a comedy doesn't make it bad; it's a satire of the Philippine society. I know there are better ways of doing satires, but Tanging ina is effective nonetheless. Ipapamukha nya sayo kung anong pinaggagagawa nating mga Pinoy in a very comic yet may-sipa manner.
Jericho shouldve won Best Actor.
*deserves ^^
i recommend you to watch indie movies... if quality story is what you seek :)
d kow pa napanoud lahat hahaha,, napdaan mare
